About Me

Describe yourself in one word.

Easy!  Silly-fun_loving-tall-balding-sleepy-adventurous-outdoorsy-inquisitive-smelly-nice_on_occasion-scarred-nail_biter-different :O)

What motivates you to live the Christian life?

I am overwhelmed by God's love and grace.  I struggle through the prayer to "see through His eyes" and I am always excited when I get a glimpse of what He is about in this world.  I don't know why, but He is willing to use little old me despite my many flaws and even my stubborn nature.

What is you best Pipeline memory?

This is a tough one.  Those moments when growth is revealed shake me to my core.  They are awesomely commonplace at Pipeline among the young people and the awesome staff so choosing one would be difficult at best.

Actually, I think my best Pipeline memory is when our dear Josh and Michelle left us.  It was a tough moment, but what made it the best was how difficult it was.  We are a family and we all felt it that day.  They were on their path to following and obeying God and have our blessing and our prayers, but the tears that flowed and were held back by young people and team members alike spoke of the love we all shared for one another.

Why do you serve at Pipeline?

I'd like to say that I first signed up to help because God blinded me, spoke to me through an old busted up Chevy, took away my voice until I signed up to help.  But it wasn't that cool.  I started serving because help was needed.  I wasn't and still am not experienced or competent enough for the task that I am called to, but am willing to see what God can do through me.

That is how I started to serve at Pipeline.  I continue to serve because that sense of duty in response to need has been replaced with a sense of purpose, calling, and family that I can't even come close to wrapping my little mind around.  God is doing great things in and through everyone at Pipeline and I'm excited to be a part of it!

How do you manage to be relational every week with our young pipeline friends?

I have to constantly remind myself that God's children are more important than the music, memorization of lines, speedy flow of the check-out line, and even snack.  Every week I stop the world to invest a few moments to find out how their week was and to share how excited I am to see them.  It is the truth, but the only way they know is if I take the time to tell them.  So important and so very simple.

In what ways do you see God working at Pipeline?

I see the hand of God on every team member and family at Pipeline as they hear Truth and work hard to apply it.  I see God bringing pure hearts to Pipeline to help that are willing and eager to step out of their comfort zone where God is growing them in ways that surprise them most of all.  I see God using flawed leaders to impact the lives of our young people and their families for eternity through their love and prayer.
