I serve at Pipeline as a Kahu which is Hawaiian for Elder. At Pipeline Kahu is our security and safety team.
I also serve at the night service of Sandals as the gym lights and prop moving guy.
Describe yourself in one word.
Growing
What motivates you to live the Christian life?
I was raised a Christian but spent most of my adult life lost. A year ago I came back to the Lord knowing that the only true way to live is his way for him. I have never been happier in my life!
What is you best Pipeline memory?
When parents and young people know that Kahu is there for them and keeping them safe.
Why do you serve at Pipeline?
I started because I had a lot of friends in the program and I wanted to show my appreciation for them by helping them out. Steven Mitchell thought that the Kahu position would be a great fit for me because of my security background and passion for photography. He was right; it is immeasurable how much pipeline means to me and has helped me grow.
How do you manage to be relational every week with our young pipeline friends?
As a Kahu my job is to facilitate a safe place for out Island Cheifs and young people to be relational. So unfortunately I don’t get to spend much time with our young people one on one. It is my goal to slow down and visit with the classes when I have down time and work on being more relational.
In what ways do you see God working at Pipeline?
As cheesy as it sounds there really is a spark in the eyes of the young people at pipeline. He blesses Pipeline with the relations of our young people and our Islands Cheifs. It is by his blessings that we get the honor to do his work.
